Resident Evil 7 - a new take on zombies

Resident Evil 7 is a return to form for the award winning franchise and now more then ever Capcom seems concerned by environment layout after pleasantly atmospheric drill followed by the turmoil of the last couple of games that never really matured to the level of excellence of an excellent horror video game. Resident Evil 7's changes may be off-putting to some, especially when we are thinking at the change of perspective from a third-person to first-person. In my opinion it is a better match for a survival horror the first-person perspective and I also enjoy the shooting elements a lot (similar to what we will ordinary find into PS5 FPS games), but I understand those more conservative that are still hanged on the third person perspective. The RE7's changes mark an evolution that fits perfectly into the world that Capcom has created.

Resident Evil 7 is a return to form

The tense atmosphere of Resident Evil 7 may be the most powerful that the fans of the franchise has seen in quite a while. I believe the spooky Dulvey plantation plays an important role in this matter. RE7 has a tenuous balance that few videogames handle. It is refreshing to see how Resident Evil 7 re-discovers it after the not-so-good games recently. Like the boss battles that walk the line between combat and horror perfectly. Generally, survival-horror games, such as many action-adventure videogames, are occasionally structured round the boss experience. It is there where the players have to face a strong antagonist and have to defeat it in order to progress to another place. On the other hand, I know how important is the price of a video game and it always feel good to buy cheap PS5 games. Resident Evil 7 could be found with big discounts.

The strategy to combat is rather standard for Resident Evil (and maybe this is not the best news). It is a rather restricted combat with hard fights, such were the combat games of the past. RE7 changes the rhythm between slow-paced and fast combat, instead of a constant battle as in Resident Evil 4 throughout Resident Evil 6. There is one attribute (at least one) that is very important and somewhat controversial (and I have mentioned it already). It's the change to the first-person perspective. This is a substantial change for the series and we will probably see it on future games as well (at least this is what I hope). It may be one more reason to buy Resident Evil 7.

Resident Evil's dark atmosphere

Some enthusiasts have decried this shift from a third-person perspective to a first-person one as  evidence of Capcom's confusion. They argue that the developers have lost their way, but that could not be farther from the reality. To me, this is a natural progression and there must be a reason why first-person shooters are more popular than third-person shooters. Why this observation not to be relevant here as well? After all, RE7 have many of the characteristics of the successful PS5 shooting games. I think they have to move on and understand that an adventure shooter survival horror like RE7 is probably a good move for the franchise and they will probably attract new players into the Resident Evil's universe.

Resident Evil has impressive graphics

A brand new first-person perspective and stunningly detailed graphics makes for one of the best PS5 horror games ever. RE7 is probably the most vicious and strong on terror experiences Resident Evil ever made. Resident Evil 7 is strong on atmosphere - the sign of a top horror game that stays away from easy scare tactics. I could not recommend more Resident Evil 7. If you have no biases, as many of the conservative fans of the franchise, than you will be very happy with everything RE7 has to offer - graphics, story, gameplay.
