7 Days to Die a rare zombie horror survival game for PS4 and Xbox One

Telltale is the publisher of 7 Days to Die game, a popular survival horde crafting title released for PS4, Xbox One and PC.


The game was made by indie developer The Fun Pimps, and will be brought to consoles via Telltale Games, which cites the game's existing 1.5 million PC players across the globe. Yet another open-world crafting game with zombies, the 7 Days To Die Early Access offering tasks players with surviving in a procedurally generated map of Arizona for as long as humanly possible.

The premise behind 7 Days to Die is strong: it's an open-world zombie survival horror game smashed together with the crafting and building elements of Minecraft That description sounds compelling, but the final product doesn't come anywhere near to being fun. So it should come as no surprise that even with 7 Days to Die's shiny, disclaimer-free boxed copies for the PS4 and Xbox One, that's essentially what it is.

7 Days to Die has already proven to be wildly popular with over 1.5 million PC users worldwide. Its survival-horror crafting simulation is something console players have wanted for years, and its incredibly deep gameplay systems are fun and rewarding for those who invest time in learning them.

The process of crafting and gathering supplies and building your first safe zone is well-done and addictive once you get going and understand how the basic gameplay systems work - the day and night cycle, the gathering and crafting of materials, the up-keep of your character's food, water and energy needs - and killing zombies is a genuinely terrifying, albeit fun task. The core gameplay in 7 Days To Die will be appealing and familiar to anyone who enjoys voxel-based crafting mechanics, open-world exploration and sandbox-approaches to gaming - similar to games like Ark: Survival Evolved, Minecraft, and Terarria.


Telltale Publishing and The Fun Pimps Release the Hit Survival Horde Crafting Game on Consoles in North America and Europe for the First Time. To make sure gamers get their zombie fix, Telltale Games is offering exclusive access to five character skins taken from The Walking Dead” series to those who order 7 Days to Die. Unlike some other zombie games, 7 Days to Die blends different types of gameplay into one, including tower defense, first-person shooter, role playing, and survival horror.
