The Flame in the Flood is a wilderness survival game in which a girl and her dog travel on foot and by raft down a procedurally-generated river. It's vitally important that the player scours every nook and cranny for useful items for their journey ahead, and to make matters worse there's limited inventory space that makes even early Resident Evil games seem generous. However, this is easier said than done, with player character Scout needing to use every last drop of her survival and crafting abilities to make it through. While other games have a stronger focus on crafting, The Flame in the Flood uses a blend of that with the critical decisions being made not on what to make, but what to keep.
